In light of the Government guidance around non-essential contact due to the coronavirus, then the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have issued advice that all church services and events are suspended until further notice.

Therefore, no Sunday Services or other Church activities will be taking place for the foreseeable future.

Although we have also had to close each of the 12 Churches in the Binsey Team, we have been carrying on sharing worship and prayer together from the safety of our own homes via email resources. In this way we have been able to prepare for Easter by sharing services, readings, reflections and prayers during Passiontide and Holy Week.

The website will soon have more of those resources, prayers and readings available. We also hope to make available soon via the churches printed resources for prayer and bible readings. We may also consider streaming talks and prayers via the internet, if you have access to a computer.

In the meantime, we remain committed to supporting, helping and praying for one another.

These are strange times we are entering in our nation and our world. As citizens of earth and of heaven, we have a special part to play.

Our Archbishops have written, “Our life is going to be less characterised by attendance at church on Sunday, and more characterised by the prayer and service we offer each day.”

We are in the process of deciding how we can best support one another and particularly those who are most vulnerable in our villages.

If you have any concerns or thoughts of how help can best be offered, then please get in touch with me on 016973 71541 or email teamrector@binsey.org.uk

Please take care, follow Government guidance about self isolating and most importantly love your neighbours. And we unashamedly ask you to pray for our nation and for our world. Please join us.

With my prayers and best wishes,

Revd Stephen Banks
